has anyone ever used the drop shot method for walleye ?
I was wondering if this could be used while drifting a river

I have not drop shotted but in a river you may be better off using a 3-way which I have many times.

I have Drop-Shot for Smallies in the mouth of the River a few times and don't know the exact reason why I always hit Walleyes 15 minutes before dark. Nothing Big though, but would like to know why always that "Time Window".

ON THE RIVER I FISH, WE USE A JIG OR BLADE BAIT ON THE BOTTOM AND UP THE LINE 18" A DROP SHOT WITH A GRUB. WE DO MORE ON THE DROP SHOT THAN ON THE JIG.

Check this site out. Getting to be a big deal out west... I've used the drop shot in 80' of water. You can use a 2 oz weight if you want to keep vertical for drifting, but when that weight hits bottom the lure just floats and acts natural as you please. Don't be afraid to use some weight to get down there!
