No, it's a 250 yami HPDI. When this first happened, I thought that I was having motor problems. I brought it to several different Yamaha dealers and they kept telling me that there was nothing wrong with the motor. They never said anything about the battery. I figured that out on my own and that's a miracle, because I'm not mechanical at all!!! After, I was really mad because I had spend lots of time and money with these dealers and not one figured out that it was the battery causing my motor to die. What would happen is that they would take it out to a lake and run it and sure enough, it ran perfect. Duh, that's because the battery was up.

I brought my battery in and had it load tested. They told me that the battery tested out good. So now what would you suggest I do???

I would suggest you carefully check all connections including at the battery, all the way to the engine.

I would verify that the battery is in fact fully charged before going to the lake. If it is, I would unhook the battery charger from the battery after it is done charging it. It may be the cause of the drain. That is a lot of stored electricity to lose in the trip to the lake.

Take an ammeter with the power off and place inline from the battery to the loads. One by one disconnect your accessories and measure the current drop. (Lots of handheld multimeters have ammeters that can measure modest current). This is a two-man job and takes just a few minutes.
I picked up a used boat a while ago that had "dieing battery" syndrome and found the stereo/CD player had pretty significant current draws even when turned off. The boat was short-term so rather than replacing the stereo I put an inline switch. (The new boat has a master switch and individual accessory switches...) |

I had all of my electrical gone thru by an electrician and he did not find any problems. I talked to a guy at my campsite about my problems and he suggested that I look at the fuel system. The first thing I checked was my priming bulb and it was soft. I pumped it and started up the motor and I haven't had it die out since!!
