Default FLW Leech Lake

Mark Courts is leading the 95 boat field with five fish for 15lbs 14oz. Paul Meleen is right on his tail with 15lbs 7oz. With only two fish, Duane Kriese is in third with 13lbs 14oz.

A total of 270 were weighed today for 515lbs 12 oz. Including 29 five fish limits. A limit can include up to 5 fish under 18" but only two fish over 26" can be weighed as part of the 5 fish tournament limit. Teams can upgrade their "unders" but "overs" are not allowed to be upgraded.

More stories and pics to come.

Default just learning the pros

I know quite a few... but never heard of Tom Keenan before - and he's almost had 1 million in tournament winnings and is currently in top 10? Is it safe to say is an underrated pro?

I'm rooting for Bill Shimota and Bryon Brosdahl...
Brosdahl seems to be having troubles finding the big girls (he didn't the weekend before in the Leech Lake Tourney either).

Tom Keenen is a very good fisherman and has been around a long time. I know he used to work at the Gander Mountain in Mosinee, WI, maybe still does. I was in there one time and a guy walked in and asked Tom what he needed to get started for trolling walleyes on Green Bay. I thought to myself "Uh oh, this guy is in for a lesson and hes going to be dropping some big $$$." An hour later he walked by with a cart full of rods, reels, boards, spinners, crankbaits, lines, and all kinds of other goodies. Thats some good service.

It would be nice to see Bill or Mark win in the National Guard boat.

While some pros held steady, others struggled to get on the same fish yesterday, and of course there were a couple of pros who came from behind to earn a chance to fish again tomorrow.

Kevin Carstensen has put together two good bags in a row to climb to the top. Paul Meleen fished on the conservative side today to just make sure he made the cut. Both National Guard Pros, Bill Shimota and Mark Courts are in the top three.

Cograts to the top ten who will be fishing tomorow-
Pros
Kevin Carstensen
Bill Shimota
Mark Courts
Rick Olson
Tom Kemos
Paul Meleen
Mark Christianson
David Bjorkman
Scott Larson
Eric Olson

Cos
Alan Wegleitner
Kurt Zing
Tim Depooter
Boyd Strissel
Randal Sterr
Edward Piekutowski
Tyrone Larson
James Stigen
Dan Soehren
Dan Meisner

More pics and info to come!

Really? Don't you fish to win? He's now over 7 pounds behind the leader and 5 behind 3rd, pretty insurmountable odds, given the regulations and company ahead of him, in my opinion. Am I missing something ?
