Default Ranger Reata and Downriggers

Has anyone mounted downriggers on a Ranger Reata (2007 1850VS). There's not a lot of room and the tops of the gunnels are pretty narrow. Not sure if Cannon rails will fit. Any experience helpful. Thanks.

Yes, someone has mounted riggers on that boat.

Especially for a boat with narrow gunnels - one of the easiest and nicest way to mount riggers is to use a trolling board.

With the use of a trolling board, any side to side rigger forces are spread across the width of the boat. Also, any back and forth forces are absorbed by the double lock down of the rigger boards.

On some boats, it is easy and quick to mount a rigger board, by laying the rigger boards on the gunnels and then using a metal strap to run either back or forward to the rear tie down cleats, and then run a U bolt through the tie down cleat and through the rigger board.

This is a nice solid rigger mount that ends up costing about $10-$15 for a cedar 5x4 6 inch wide board and a couple of metal straps and U bolts.
Also, using this method - no holes in the boat need to be drilled.

How is it laid out? Jump seats and two pedestal mounts on the rear deck?

If the rails are similar to a 1850LS, here is how I run mine. These are 60" Berts tracks installed by Ranger.

On my 2011 Reata I had a 6" track mounted about where the end of bleppek's are. If I were to do it over I'd have done it like bleppek and used a 60" track. Not that the 6" didn't work, I just like the flexibility of tracks over rails. On my Skeeter I have both, 24" tracks and 1/2 or the rail cut off.

This is what I did. There was already one rod holder/net holder(?) in the back. I bought a second to mirror it in the other side. I then bought two pedestals . Seems to work fine and no issues dragging 10lbs balls. I have a 2006
