B--Man,
I sent an E-Mail to Minnkota and asked your question about running your motor on a voltage that was less than 36 volts.

This was the "official" response from Minnkota:

"Sir - If there is a battery failure that drops the voltage the unit will still run, but you may not get all of the functions, or full performance. It will not damage the motor, the only amp draw that I can tell you is at 36v on top speed it is 52amps.
Thank you,
Tracy"

Call them back up and speak to Bob in the Tech support & ask
if the 101/112 models have a 36v or 24v steering gear box motor
Then ask what could happen if fed low voltage over a long duration to that circuit

I have seen plenty of failed control boards that work BUT the steering circuit failed, sometimes just the right or left turn, once in awhile both turn directions failed.

Sometimes its caused by a burned out bi-polar diode at the motor, most times it's within the potted main board.

imo NOT worth risking a nearly $200 board
