Default Transfering GPS files

Hello,
I recently swiched from a lowrance GPS to a Garmin and want to transfer my data from the Lowrance to the Garmin. Garmin technical service said I need to find a program on the internet that will convert the files to gpx. I have google it without much progress, any help would really be appreciated.
Thank you.

I am in the "same boat"
Just bought the Garmin a couple of days ago, I was talking to a Garmin rep at the show and here is what he said
Put an SD card in the Lowrance unit ( not bigger than 1 GB for legacy units, mine is LCX27c )
Go in the menu and hit "Export waypoints"
The unit should give you a few options of Formats,
Choose "GPX"
Hit enter, and all your waypoints should export on to the SD card,
Insert SD card in your Garmin unit, and power up the unit, the unit should automatically recognize the card and prompt you for copying waypoints in your new unit,
I have not tried it yet but sounds simple and I hope it works as he said.
Now, do they still make 1GB micro SD cards with a standard size adopter ?
I have not seen a 1GB card in ages and the old Lowrance units can no process anything bigger.
