I'm sticking with a Honda motor. Max hp is 125 for that model...I read some of you have 115 on your 1775 impact. Do you feel its too "rear end heavy"

Thanks
You are 100% correct you wont get any thing more out of the 115 the extra 15 hp will be more than used up by the extra 100 lbs on the transom (don't think 100lbs is no big deal' in the middle of the boat its not but on either end of the boat it is)
The 100 is only going to make 90 hp if you don't have fresh premium gas in it though
i have run more than a couple of the new HONDA 100s and they are awesome motors probably make a little more than 100 hp but old gas the computer backs down the timing and there is a substantial change in hp to protect the motor

The present model year specs for the 1775 Impact show nearly 18' length, and 94" beam. That is not a small boat. I would want the bigger motor! I guess you would see 3-4 mph more at WOT with a 115hp. Also, I see that the current spec for that boat is 25" transom, so no worries about the heavier motor.

I just looked up the weight of the two outboards, and found that the 2017 Mercury 115 HP 4 Stroke is actually a few pounds lighter than the Honda BF100, with the Merc at 359 pounds, and the Honda at 366 pounds.

Even the older, heavier 115 Merc was just fine on the back of the 1775 Impact I used to have.

I agree with Frank. Any benefit of going with the 115 is eroded by that extra weight on the transom.

Once you start loading the boat up any extra HP will be appreciated.

Guys, the Honda 115, 135 and 150 are all the Same Big Block motor, 2.4liter 4cylinder, and Dead Reliable...The 100 is the 90 with Hotter heads and needs Premium Fuel to get its 106-108hp.....I would do the 115 because its a Torque monster and Torque is what moves boats, not HP at 6000rpms.....I agree the Merc 115 is a Great motor but its NO HONDA.....Honda invented the 4stroke outboard in 1963, a little before Merc, about 40yrs.....

Thanks for all the replies. I order the Impact 3 weeks ago with the 115 honda. Yes its 100lbs heavier than the Merc. But Like allot of Guys here they put a kicker and there is your extra 100lbs. And I'm not putting a kicker. I don't troll. I'm a cast and reel type a guy.
Like MERCONLY said Honda is a torque monster. And I need that for rough waters with a load.

you'll be much happier with the 115 when your loaded and getting out of the hole. the 15 hp is a big deal for getting up on plane. enjoy your new boat.
