Default Sidewinder planer boards

Hello, wondering if anyone else is running sidewinder boards. I like them but I run braid and the line cuts into the plastic bill. Was wondering if anyone modified the bills to avert the cutting by the line. I am going to try installing a metal grommet in the bill itself, don't know if it will work, also thought of epoxying in ceramic guide eyes. I will post my results. Short of respooling with mono, anyone do anything else? I know they are not popular but I like the fact it runs in line when tripped, and at 17 bucks a board,it doesn't kill the pocketbook.
