I like using a no stretch line like fireline or nanofil for my mainline. The no stretch line offers great sensitivity and its thinner diameter helps keep you fishing more vertical easier especially in rough water. For the snell of my rigs I like to use fluorocarbon. The stiffer line help keep the line twists to a minimum when tied to a barrel swivel when trolling slow-death and spinners.
