Default New Lund Boat Wrap finished!

My 2025 is a 2002 needless to say it had a few scratches here and there so I was considering new paint. I then ran across a local graphic shop. After talking to the owner they have been doing vinyl boat wraps for 10+ years and have never had a wrap come off. So I assisted with a design to do a complete boat wrap, main motor and kicker, and matching decals for the truck. I think it came out great.

Very nice. Did you have it done by the dealer? Cost?

When I bought my boat last year the previous owner had put graphics on the boat. I thought about removing it but I guess it is hard to remove and clean off. So I left it on, which will protect the paint anyway.

Lund graphics were a pain to remove prior to having the wrap done I had to prep the boat to ensure a nice clean finish

She looks sooo PURDY . . . . too PURDY to take my partner Mach who never protects my boat from the dock.

What I did was completely remove all decals from the boat and motor first using a heat gun. I then worked with various solvents like goo be gone, WD-40, and acetone to remove any remaining adhesive. Then removed my wave wackers, Bimini top hooks, live well drain threaded rings that thread on from the outside. Basically I removed anything I could that was permanent so the shop could do the cleanest wrap possible. The final prep was to sand any scratches or uneven surfaces to ensure a clean finish. Finally I used rubbing alcohol and whipped all surfaces down. If you have ever seen a decal with a grain of dirt underneath it shows very well. I could have had the shop do all the prep as well but it would have doubled the cost for labor. It took me 2 days to prep and one day for the shop to wrap. Bottom line is the finished product will be as good as the surface it was attached to.
