Default Puerter Rico Trip

Myself and a few friends are planning one of those Iguana hunts in PR this Feb. Flights are cheap just picked up my .22 cal air rifle with enough ft lbs (26). Working on calling farmers that have the infestation of green lizards. We plan on five days total with first and last days for travel and three for shooting. If we get bored I believe we will try some ocean fishing.

I will take a lot of picts.

Three good days hunting or should I say shooting iguanas. They look for sunny areas in the morning till noon and then they spread out to feed in the local fruit farms.

We were mostly in and around the town of Salinas, Puerto Rico. It is south central off the coast. We stayed in both Ponce and San Juan.

Are iguanas good table fare? Please don't say "tastes like chicken".

Default Bio bay

Repoman, if you get a chance and the skies are right check out a trip to Bio-luminescent bay on Veiques (the island just east of PR. I was in the Seabees based on Veiques back in the 80s and Bio bay was right there. It is filled with plankton that glow blue when they swim or are disturbed. It is truly one of the natural wonders of the world. I think now you take a kayak or canoe - there are sites to book tours.

Default What Iguanas Taste Like

It all depends on whether the person who is cooking it knows what they are doing. The main muscle groups taste like alligator and the other areas are sort of fish like tasting. When it taste like chicken, that is the sign of a poor cook.

As far as the bio logoons, I would be interested in seeing them if I were on a trip with the family, but this was pearly just a hunting trip.

Thanks for looking at my post, plan on going again Feb 2018.
