Default Lab puppies question

My lab just had her first litter of puppies. Everything went awesome she had 9 perfect little angels. She is a good mom puppies seem to be doing awesome 2 weeks old now. Here is the concern she does not seem to care that she has puppies. If they start making a lot of noise she goes in to feed them. But she would rather be out with me or the kids. Is this normal? Our house is pretty busy so I wonder if she thinks she's missing something. Might not help that she is a shed dog and usually this time of year we are out looking for horns. Just seems like she don't go in there unless they are hungry.

Why don`t you go and lay with them little buggers crawling all over you!!! Then you will see why she wants out of there. As long as she is feeding them they are better off with her not in with them a lot. Have seen where the mother has layed on a pup or two and killed them. Wiredog

Dew claws are gone! If that's what you were wondering.

good to hear, if they are for hunting, it is necessary, IMHO. I used to raise hunt test labs and I do miss it.

Family time is the biggest key. Let her know that the pups are a part of the family
