Default Back up camera

Does anyone use them. I hook up by myself all the time and with my camper on it can be a pain. What make and model would you suggest.

Get one, they are great. My current truck came with one, but I installed one on my last truck. Best thing I ever did. Look around, there are a bunch of different ones, check Amazon, and Ebay for prices.

I looked at new trucks just for the back up cameras but they are in the tailgate and I take off the tailgate to put my camper on. Any advise on after market ones?

Walleye,
Add a camera on the top of the cab beside the light.
Add another camera in the bumper.
Have a display that can switch between cameras or run split screen.

They all work well and are a huge asset when working with a big rig.

Take care

Check out the iBall Wireless Trailer Hitch Camera. I got one at Christmas and it's pretty slick. I never worried about backing up with a single axle trailer, but now I have a tandem and it won't budge much. The camera makes it a snap, no wires and you can put it away when you're not using it. Takes a few times to get the hang of it, but once you do it's spot on! Good luck.

Aftermarket...seen them with the camera mounted right there above the hitch by the license plate.Out of the way,not very noticeable but in a perfect position to view the receiver and ball to make a perfect connection to the trailer.

I agree with Southerncomfort. My wife got me an aftermarket unit for my birthday. Don't remember the brand. It is mounted on a license plate frame and gives a great view of the trailer hitch/ball and the boat/trailer while running down the road. Instructions said to wire it up to the backup lights, but I changed mine to be on whenever the lights are on. I sometimes pick up other vehicle/home video when driving down the road, but I think the FCC requires such devices to accept any local signals.
