Default Ice auger, 2 stroke or 4??

Whats the best motor option to go with a two stroke or the new 4 strokes they got out?

The two strokes are lighter and can cut quicker depending on the model.

However, the 4 strokes are quieter and they don't smoke.
If I was going to be using an auger in a house for reopening the holes, I would go with the 4 stroke.

Otherwise, it is your call.

How well do the electric models work? Are they as strong as the gas units, and how many holes can you cut with the built-in rechargable battery?

They cut ice like Molasses in January - i.e. slow and painful.

I had one for about 20 minutes. After trying to get three holes cut, I took it back; bought a lazer strikemaster and haven't looked back.

I personally like the 2 stroke for reasons mentioned above. FORGET about the electric.....totally worthless.
