Terrible situation, but remember it was one person. Not "people", not others rising in cities and gunning down theater goers, etc. This was one deranged individual. I don't think I could express the percentage of one person in the total US population, but I'll bet there are lots of zeros .00000000000000000..........1% Make sure you don't buy the bull from the politicians that guns should be take away from citizens, ammo regulated, etc. They are just looking for an excuse. Keep it in perspective - a tragedy caused by one individual. Just my two cents.

And all the "gun nuts" are spewing out defensive excuses already.. "if there had been a person in the crowd with a concealed carry weapon, there might have been less bloodshed" What kind of logic is this? It ain't Dodge City in the 1860's So... we all "arm" ourselves to attend a movie theatre, nowadays?
So much for keeping the bar high....
I work in health care so my perspective is that sick and dying people are cared for with compassion.I see my coworkers tending to peoples needs during difficult times. With out hope and compassion we might as well just stay home and say nothing we do matters. This post will be my last on this subject, but I will go to work each day to restore hope!
Good for you - stay the course.

Again, you are dodging the question. You originally stated that something good can come from this. I asked you what that would be, and once again, you failed to answer. Of course, hope and compassion are important, and I never questioned you on that. The trouble with you and others like you, is that you speak before thinking and can't back up what you say. Sometimes people get sick, get hurt, even die and no good comes from the situation. This happens to be one of those times. I'm glad that was your last post on the subject, because you seem to talk in circles and never answered my question. Perhaps in the future, you should think before you speak, so that your own words can't be used against you! |

...and a further descent into the mud.
Further North is the brave "member" who is deciding who should say what and how it should be said. Thank you for showing everyone here how to set the standard. What would we do without your direction? |

That's just...weak...and sad...and you're still hiding...about what we'd expect... My comment to you, "guest" was more that you don't have the stones to stand behind your words. If you've got an opinion, at least be brave enough to take the flak that goes with it. It is disappointing that some folks had to make this about their personal agendas...but to be such a child that you have to hide behind "guest" status is...disturbing...

My name is well, Further South. I feel much stronger now, and I even feel my stones growing larger. Thank you for your wisdom and for pointing me in the right direction. I know it must be a heavy burden for you to sit and judge all of the posts to this thread. I hope your frustration doesn't cause you to become even more "disturbed" than you already are... |
