vexilar fl 20 acting up
I have an fl-20 that I have had for two or three years. It works perfectly in all different applications for the first two or three hours. After that, I get four or five phantom green lines right off bottom, regardless of whether I am in low power, regular power or bottom lock. I put another vexilar down the same hole with mine turned off, and no marks. I spoke with Vexilar, and they insist it is some outside source causing the problem. I am a mile from the nearest house or shack, and the only things in my shack besides rods and lures are propane heaters and lanterns. I do have an ION augur parked outside, but it is not on. Battery is fine, checks out good and holds a full charge. Any ideas out there?

Two things to check out. Even if battery shows its good try a brand new battery. More times than not problems are solved with a new battery. Second if you can find another transducer from a friend and swap out to see if its the transducer. Good luck and post back your findings.

Are you running the Tri-Beam ducer? If so send it in and have it replaced with the Pro-View ducer!!

fl20
I have already sent the transducer back and they sent me a new tri beam transducer made by a different manufacturer according to the vexilar tech rep. It worked fine for a couple three weeks, and then this problem started. I have ordered a new battery, but it's unlikely I will be able to report back until next year as our season ends the 15th. If I can still get out on the ice, I will certainly check it out and report back. Thanks for the advice and input.
