Default Jigging minnows

Rapala Jigging Rap, Snap Rap, Jigging Shad Rap, Puppet Minnow, Shiver Minnow> What's the fishing difference? All about the same? Do you need all od them or how do you use them differently?

I have had excellent luck with #4 & #5 Northland Puppet Minnows and #7 & #9 Jigging Raps, mostly vertically jigging deep fish on structure in the fall . Snap raps…not so much. Jigging Shad Rap…not so much as they are too light and too small. .

Shiver minnows have not used them much. You can check out the P&K info on casting them and retrieving them in a walk the dog style.

Thanks, guess I'll try the puppets and jigging raps; first. Maybe pick up a shiver minnow when the money comes available.

My experiences are the same as Chad's (he's had great success with them) and I've had great results with them in the fall on structure as well, but I've been using them this spring on Lake of the Woods fishing reefs and the edges of reefs with excellent results as well. I generally tip the middle hook with a minnow head or sometimes even a whole minnow. The main thing I can say about them is that they work and in my experience they usually catch larger fish then jigs. They're becoming my favorite way to fish.

I have but it's rare. Some guys will clip off the nose hook in rocky conditions to reduce snags.

They work great for novices/kids also, cuz they just have to get it down and wiggle it. Plus the fish slam it when they hit, and you don't have to keep baiting their hooks.

I just had some folks in the boat this past weekend catching fish over brushpiles with them.
