I have seen people fishing since the water is low and pretty green, but the one day I stopped and poked around, two guys were fishing for catfish. Read someone caught a nice fish from shore at the dam earlier this week.

The Post Gazette had this story about building a ramp/access there...

The borough of Sharpsburg is sprucing up three blocks of riverfront property from 13th to 16th Street for the CITGO Bassmaster Classic this summer. Part of the plan is to secure funding from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission to develop a launch site on the same spot.

Crews from Goodwill Industries have been clearing brush, dead trees and litter, and Aspinwall volunteer firemen scrubbed the tunnel and the streets of silt and mud from past floods, in hopes of receiving a grant through the Commission's new boat launch access program, said Sharpsburg councilman Larry Stellitano.

"We've applied for a $160,000 grant and this goes toward our in-kind match," he said.

More volunteers are needed to continue the effort, said Stellitano, who promised the borough will pay for diesel fuel and lubricants for those who bring their own chain saws and other equipment.

For more information or to help, call Stellitano at 412-475-1953 or the borough at 412-781-0546.
There's also a FLW tournament coming to Pgh in September check this out. www.msc3riverschallenge.com
