early season night fishing

Now that we are getting closer to spring (lots of good winter lake trout fishing left though) it is time to start thinking about big spring walleyes at night in the bays. So, what are some of your favorite methods when working the night shift early in the year? Bobbers on the shallow rock piles, trolling rapalas, casting to shoreline pockets, etc. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks.

are you in the gunflint area i assume...i spent a lot of time up there.

My favorite method for night/spring is to run a planer board out 100 feet plus wide and pull smaller stick baits (primarily HJs) in shallow water near breaks. At a very slow pace, 0.5mph to start. between 3AM and 7AM

For me it depends on water temp. and wind. The windier it is I'll troll sticks. Nothing better than lighted bobbers on the rocks though with a leech under it.
