US Army Corp. of Engineers: Upper Mississippi River Navigation Charts. It's a spiral bound and the covers are laminated.

You can call the Rock Island District office at 309-794-5900, and they can tell you where you can buy one. I found mine at a Hardware/Sporting Goods store in Bettendorf, IA. That's where they told me I could find it. When I got mine, the latest edition was 2001. I don't know if they have done another one since then.

Also, I haven't checked, but they have a website, and they might have information on there that you could check out.

The Corps River maps are as good as it gets... There are some old Hot Spots maps... But, they aren't any more useful. Anyone familiar with the Mississippi River can tell you holes, islands and sandbars come and go. Even the wing dams... "change"... Have one back home north of our duck blind that continues to sink... Over 40+ years I have seen them (the Corps) haul new rock in almost every 5-7 years...

The largest natural harbor on the entire Mississippi River, the Quincy Bay (Quincy, IL) use to be navigable... Today, the only way to get around "for sure" is with a jet or "Go Daddy"... places that were 12-15' deep 10 1960 are now 1-11/2'... Silt and sand moves around...

Outside the channel (and even inside) you need to be very careful. I have seen 80' Cotttonwood trees floating down the channel only to hang up at an edge...
