Default Lss2

Found out today that Lowrance is coming out with the LSS2 later this month. I almost bought a HDS10 bundle today with the LSS1. The person let it slip at Lowrance. Apparently they are going to have 35% better definition.

Maybe that is why there is a $300 rebate on the LSS-1

I had a feeling there might be a version 2 coming out soon. In fact, I've done a couple Google searches to try and sniff something out but no luck. Hopefully they address the uneven brightness/contrast/fade to black issues at longer range across the SS viewing area and horizontal lines that accompany many of the images I have seen.

Do you think the switching out the LSS-1 for a 2 will require replacing the transducer and the module? I'm thinking just the module and the exisiting transducer that I have on my boat will work.

I talked to pro today after reading first post.
His first response was "what the h....". He told me nobody was suppose to know about the LSS-2. He did tell me 3 things:

1. The lss-2 would be available to public in July/August.
2. The transducer will be 2"'s bigger.
3. It will have new module.

He did sound like it would be clearer picture and that he was hoping to have one on his boat by end of month.

Take all this for what it is worth.

just wondering...will this transducer be able to work with either the Gen 1 and/or the Gen2 HDS units?
