I have had mine for a little over a month and I really like it so far. I didn't think it would cut as good as it does. The weight is great too.

Just a service bulletin link I wanted to share.
http://bayservice.ca/Strikemaster/Bu...0by%20step.png After seeing this I checked out my auger and it seems nearly impossible for the cable to pop out of the linkage as is shown in the bulletin but hey, if it happens to you you'll know how to fix it. |

I bought the new iron lithium 8' this year and I am impressed so easy to use and light weight.

I went from a lazer mag 2 stroke 8" to Lazer Strike Lite 1 4 stroke to a Jiffy Pro4 "Lite" propane 4 stroke this year, and in my opinion, all have their pros and cons. And I bet the Ions do as well. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a "perfect auger", just like there isn't a perfect boat or pickup truck. |

4 Stroke Strikemaster
Bought one last year and after a very slight idle adjustment have been just adding gas ( premium )
Probably burned 10 tanks of gas last year and 1 so far this year.. I'm an ice troller, I love this auger !!! Light weight, always starts easy. I was out in -5* and she wasn't happy but fired up with out too much trouble... But warm them up. I added a cool feature, sorry no pics. 1/2 " foam to insulate water pipe with some hockey tape makes a cover for the auger shaft where you grab the auger to haul it around. Easy to grab and the cold doesn't get to your fingers !! One of the best tools in my ice fishing toolbox

I am of the opinion each has their pros/cons, and there is no "one auger to rule them all". The Pro4 Lite and Strike Lite are supposed to resist oil getting in the carb, but not totally solve it. |
