SM Bass now open all season in Ontario ?

A friend who fishes the same Ontario lake as I do (several hours NE out of the SOO) told me this week that the camp owner had said the local regs had just changed for their Bass season. Bass were now going to be open all year long instead of having a closed season.

I normally fish for walleyes, though enjoy fishing top water for SM Bass for a change of pace.....has anyone else heard that the Bass regs have been changed for the Central Ontario region ?

The seasons vary by zone. Here are the 2014 regulations:

Open all year round in areas north of Highway 17. So it's open all year in FMZs 4,5,6,7,8 and 9; and most of 10.

Might be some exceptions for specific lakes though. You'd have to check.

Thanks.......that link for the Regs shows the lake still has an early closed season (until the 3rd Saturday in June) though we'll be in the following week, so works out OK....
