Default hds touch on ice?

I am considering setting up my hds 9 for ice fishing. I have used it on the boat in tempos down into the high teens but not for more than a few hours.

Just wondering if anyone has tried it yet. I do know that it would be sweet to have my full gps with chips on the front of my quad!

I will be using my HDS 9 this year. I have used a hds-5 for the past few years and like having sonar and GPS in one unit. The 5 was mounted with a ram mount and could go from my atv or truck right to the shack. Made a custom box with two batteries to support camera and hds unit. With the 9 this year, I plan to view the camera directly on the HDS-9 using the Aqua Vu Multi Vu and the Lowrance video input cable. Tested on the bench, but have yet to take it on the water.

Have been using the HDS Gen 2 on a quad for years. No issues, works great for gps.

The only place I ice fish is Lake Winnipeg, so it has seen plenty of -20 F temps. No issues. It does seem like it runs slower, but it runs.

I'm going to rig it this year to a house battery, I think it would be better for it to run all day long. It's on the quad battery now, and I shut it off when the quad is shut off to preserve the quad battery for starting.
