Default Wild turkey: field dress or no?

What are your guys' thoughts? What do you do afield where you live and why?

Never heard of anyone that field dressed a wild turkey.
Shoot it, tag it, and take it home to start the process. Maybe if I lived in an apartment or somewhere where that wouldn't be practical, I might consider the alternative of doing it in the field.
Definitely ice or frig once down to just meat.

Agreed, just took one with my bow opening day in Iowa. So cool. I took it back to the hotel and cleaned it, saved fan, spurs and beard for a wall mount as it is my first ever bow kill, turkey or otherwise.

I take them home and breast them out. I too filled a Iowa bow tag on a tom opening morning. Should have filled my second bow tag yesterday morning but we won't talk about that!
