Default Gavins Point Dam, Lewis and Clark Lake, Yankton SD

I was curious as to if anyone had a fishing report for Yankton below or above the dam.

Thank you

Default RE: Gavins Point Dam, Lewis and Clark Lake, Yankton SD

Last I heard from my brother in vermillion is that he was catching fish below the dam at yankton at sunset and after. He fishes from shore. The report is from about 4 days ago, and that night he and a buddy had 5 fish.

I fished below the Dam Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday at Gavins point.... I caught a Keeper Walleye about every 10 minutes or so.... I have never had suck good luck tied to the wall fishing for Walleye...I had one that was just over 5 pounds as well, the rest were 16-20 range... I would have to say the BITE IS ONE.......

What wall are you tieing to???? Last I herd, the corps were releasing 5000cfs. With that much current and surf the corps had the stilling basin and the power house off limits.

5000 CFS is nothing to worry about.
The normal winter flow is 12,000 to 13,000.
If people are tying to the wall then the corps has most likely removed the barriers.

Default Gavins Point

They ( barriers) were still there on Sat. We were snagging paddlefish. Can not get close to the wall. Only got one Paddlefish to the boat.
