Default trailer guide ons for shorlandr

i am sure this subject has been hit before --- i have alum trophy 185 on a roller trailer. I hate roller trailers but that is what deal came with. I havent had to many problems cept at certain ramps. Does any body have any suggestion as to which one to get. I was looking at http://http://www.cabelas.com/produc...3Bcat104366880

or

http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabel...689.utshttp://

i like the short one better for looks but i am afraid that boat could slide over the top of it. Maybe not as i dont back in very far.

Any thoughts?

Thumbs up

I have the long ones on my Shorlander XR roller tandem axle with a prov 1800. Quite often I could have gotten by with the shorter ones, depending on steep the access is. But couple times I actualtly have had the splash rail that they ride against get on top of the tall ones. The splash rail rides higher toward the bow of the boat and if the current or wind pushes the boat of center you can get on top of the top roller and it gets caught and I needed to back off and try again. Mostly thought I love them, and don't think I would be happy with the low ones.

When I mounted them to the trailer frame i took a couple piece of tractor intertubeand put them between the trailer and the mounting braket, to protect the paint and provide just a little bit of cushion mounting. Has be working great. Had them for 4 years, only had to reajust them once after I hit one pretty hard.

I use low (less than 1/3 throttle) power when power loading and trailer almost always loads staight and true. I had a bunk trailer before and wouldn't go back to bunks. I often wonder why so many popole complain about rollers.

I think you will like them.!
