Terrova with I Pilot---Stopped working

Just got home.
I ran the Terrova with I Pilot for about 10 minutes today, than zip,
No power. Remote lights up but no power to the head,
foot pedal same thing.
I checked the battery when I got home, 98% charged.
I have not had a chance to look further.

I'll have to check next week.
Is there an in-line fuse?

There should be a manual breaker close to your trolling motor battery. Minn Kota recommends 60 amp, so if it is less than that, maybe it tripped. It has to be reset by hand, not automatic.

Fuse blew. Melted it's self to the fuse holder.
Ordered a Manual Reset Circuit Breaker.

The other thing to check is the gauge of your wiring. It sounds like almost everyone who has a Terrova, rewired their boat with 6 gauge wire. That's what Minn Kota recommends also. You don't want to put a 60 amp breaker on 10 gauge wire. Good luck and glad you found the problem.

On my Terrova there is a tiny black button where it connects to the battery that will pop out occasionally. I just push it back in and away it goes. It's real small so feel around the connection. Good luck.

this thread caught my interest...but not because my terrova had stopped working...but because i had an issue with the house plug GFI breaker popping when charging the batteries in the boat (since new)

I thought it was the house GFI breaker being weak. Not So! here is what i found:

1. for those of you looking at different setups, attached is a pic of my 24V system. It looks great and is a pro install! the batteries are solid enough with the straps...but upon closer inspection, I found one wire barely hanging on (backside of the 50 Amp circuit breaker you can see between the batteries in the pic). I did find the nut with a long extendable magnet. Fixed that up and put a touch of Marine Goop on the edge of all connecting nuts...not the threads though!

2. Then...I found the real culprit of the popping GFI breaker on the house. have a look at the other pic. it's not quite in focus, but somewhere along the road of factory install the one black wire on the (-) side is severely pinched (which increases resistance 10 fold)

No biggie though, all i need to do is replace the short black wire with a new one...but notice it is a 30Amp shorty fuse wire (yellow)...and I don't have much wire to play with. So I'll just replace it with a new one.
