Default Watch your weight

Pay attention to the weight difference between your old motor and the ones you are considering. Those older hulls were not designed for some of the heavier motors of today. I know someone that had a older hull boat and repowered with a new 4 stroke at max hp for the rig. With the new motor the boat sits its arse down lower in the water and had to have wave wackers installed

I will second the weight issue, depending if you fish larger rougher water. The boat does handle the water well for its size. I had the same boat was looking at going to a 60 Merc or Suzuk. I had a 55 Suzuk but wanted a newer motor for reliability. At that time the 60 Zuk was heavier. The dealer even warned me the boat would sit lower in the water. At that time the E-tec was not out yet.
