Default Onix 8&10 in dash covers

How is everybody securing their in dash covers from blowing off when trailering without there boat cover on? I have a 621fs and the units behind the windshield stay on, but I lost the cover for my in dash onix8 up in the bow, Any tricks to keep these on?

Thanks,
Reefhawg

My Onix has one of those rubber covers. I don't know if thats what you have or not. I use two bungee cords. My cover is pretty much junk. They should be embarrassed.

It is loose by design. I spoke to Humminbird about it. It is loose because it is not meant to be trailered. You should be taking the unit off when you are trailering.

They must me kidding to remove it every time I guess no one at HB noticed the amount of connectors on the back of the unit that are individually screwed on

I agree with "lifeisfun", with the in dash models it does not make sense to remove every time. When I go on a longer trip I always put on the boat cover so I don't have to worry about it. Its the shorter trips when I wish I could put the rubber covers on and not have to worry about them blowing off. I might try to rig up some type of Velcro system to keep them on when traveling.

Velcro strips top and bottom. Make sure to clean both parts with rubbing alcohol before sticking the strip

I just bought an Onix 8si, saw the black rubber cover, what about just a couple of big rubber bands?

If the sun doesn't deteriorate them yes that would work. I just run 2 bungee's, 1 each way. Seems to hold fine then if for some reason I need a bungee in the boat I have it.
