I had a real lazy, low follow last year on LOTW. Fish weren't aggressive all week long, I was throwing a Jimmy tube bait. Figure 8'd the fish for almost 2 minutes before it hit, 40" pike.

Had a couple other pike in that size range do the same thing that trip, lazy slow follows.

They sure do. I've even caught a walleye on a f8 with a crankbait!

hmmm good to know. We usually try to get stuff in the water quick when there's a fish "shopping", but I've never don the figure 8. I just got a new Toothtamer 8' rod so maybe I'll try it this year. A 7' bass rod isn't very comfortable for Fig 8's obviously which is what I've used in the past.

I think you'll like the Toothtamer rods, I have a couple and they are my go to rods for musky or northerns.

I have only figure 8'd when I see one flollowing, but seems some are doing it much more...may have to do it a bit more.

Since were talking figure 8's...A little tip. Don't be in a hurry to make another cast, ALWAYS make at least a "L" when you bring your bait back to the boat, wheather you see a follow or not. You don't want to miss those "late" followers.
