Default Lowrance auto depth issue

I'm having an issue with both my bow HDS8 Gen2 and console HDS12T reading my transducer off my Terrova on the bow. If using the auto depth feature they will not read anything deeper than 5ft. I can manually put them in a deeper range, but they won't do it with the auto depth feature. They both read fine when using the transom transducer. Any thoughts on why and how to correct?

I had a similar problem on a smaller Lowrance connected to Terrova. When in Auto Mode, are you seeing 2 lines that look like the bottom? If so, its just a double echo from a hard bottom. You can turn down sensitivity if you want or just manually adjust the range like you did. I did the same.
