Default generator for ice fishing houses

I am a very novice ice fishing guy looking to explore the sport by renting ice houses/wheel houses during my couple day trips. A lot of place advertise houses that you can plug into a generator to provide electric. My specific questionS

1) how many Watt output is needed typically

2) If I had to rent a generator, is it worth it? i.e. other than phones being charged and perhaps charging the battery for electronics.... Would it be more cost effective to just have an extra battery for the electronics that is switched out (assuming a friday to sunday fishing time frame and that they would be used at night.

then of course anything else I should think of around this issue I am forgetting...

Depends what you want to run.

I have a Honda 2000 watt that runs a pizza oven, coffee maker, etc.. just fine.

I run an LED TV, DVD, power antenna off a deep cycle battery with a small DC to AC power converter. With a good battery I can run a TV for many, many hours. You can run a lot off of a deep cycle battery and small converter without the need for a generator.

Find a house rental guy that provides a generator with the house.
