Default PWT Super Pro Payout

PWT Pros
After discussing and soliciting the opinions of pro anglers invited to compete in the Super Pro series
presented by MinnKota, the following items clarify the format:
1. The pro entry fee will be $2,000 per tournament. The payout is listed below. Based on the payouts for
50 pro anglers per tournament, the percentage payout will be 159 percent for the first three tournaments and
208 percent on the fourth and final Super Pro. The five places from 21st to 25th will pay $2,000 each, assuming
55 pros fish the Super Pro. As of today, 55 pros have verbally comitted to compete in the Super Pro Series.
2. The Super Pro practice period has been discussed and debated. Some felt it should be limited; others
voiced the opposite opinion. The issue facing tournament directors - the off-water/closed period -- is unenforceable.
To be fair to all contestants, the practice period will remain open as in recent years.
3. The Super Pro series is a Pro-Am.
4. Super Pro anglers will fish all four events.

Default PWT Regionals Payouts

The Regional series will follow a similar Pro-Am format as in the past. A field of 120 pros and 120
amateurs/co-anglers will be invited to fish each tournament. First choice will be given to those who apply to
fish all four events. Then, those who apply to fish three will be added, followed by those who can only fish
two tournaments. If necessary, the field will be completed by one-time pro applicants. A guaranteed number
of rookie pros will be accepted into the Regionals.
The Regional entry fees are $1,400 and $450, with the following payout. The payout will increase
with Walleye Cup sponsorships added to the purse. A number of pros are working diligently with out-of-theindustry
sponsors to help themselves, their new sponsors and other pros by selling Walleye Cup packages. If
you need additional sales kits or assistance in selling these sponsorships, call PWT for more information.
Pros fish the Regional Series for Championship slots, to score points and qualify for the Super Pro, to
win, to gain access to PWT media, and more. The top five will be automatically invited to fish the Super Pro
in 2007. The Tommy Docks Regional Champ will win an extra $5,000.
The Championship payout will remain the same amount as in 2005, but
40 pros will contend for the prize money. Applications will be available soon. Thanks for your support of the
PWT.

Default RE: payout

you pay more for less with both of these options compared to the FLW. if the FLW could offer a few more tournaments for walleye pros the PWT would be on its last legs if its not already.

Too bad to see a once proud organization crumbling under poor management.

Freedom of choice.
That's the beauty of being American!
I'm sure you will both be missed.

FLW only pays 93% back - unless of course you have the right boat and motor then its like 160%. Sure hope I get a good deal from Ranger and Evinrude.

Of course if I want to fish for more than my own money I could go to the PWT...

When is FLW going to announce what they are doing next year?

What is this "walleye cup" language for the PWT? Bernie (Fish_On) -- I thought you trademarked that for GNWC??

Default RE: payout

The FLW payback anytime. Lets see, $1360 per event this year for at least $60,000 cash for first place and payouts down to 50th. Or $2000 for a Super Pro with $53,000 for first, $35,000 of which is a boat and motor package valued at MSRP or $1400 for the regionals with an even smaller payback for first, $50,000, and the same $35,000 boat and motor package.

Regardless of the numbers you're throwing and the spin you're trying the ROI is greater for all with the FLW. It's even higher if you own a Ranger, Yamaha, Evinrude and possibly other sponsor products too.

The PWT talks professional, but how can they keep pretending to be that when they're still giving away boat and motor package as part of their first place money. You'll never sell that package to someone for $35,000, but you'll be taxed as thow it is really $35,000.

Anyone out there who is a business person and a tournament competitor will fish the FLW. Unless of course you've got mega pressure from your boat or motor sponsor to fish only the PWT.
