Starting on my 4th year with a GRP 29. Have used them on 3 prior boats never had a bad one.

Absolute garbage north of the 49th, 3 years a failed battery exactly a year to the day.... the opening of the season. I don't use them anymore, switched to north star.

I always buy Everstart. I think all wet lead acid batteries are the same, considering they all come from one of three manufacturers (Johnson, Exide and another brand. Unless you are including AGM or gel, a battery is a battery, may as well get the cheapest one.

East Penn Manufacturing is the other one. They are probably most well known for the Deka brand.
