Don't know why I never considered a trip in the winter before, my trip to Winoga Lodge in Sioux Lookout last week was incredible!
Lots of fish, very welcoming hosts, and a true adventure traveling deep into the bush by snowmobile each day (that was almost more fun than the fishing ).
We didn't have machines, but Winoga provided them for us.

Looks like a great trip.there is more to northwestern ontario than snow and ice in the winter.great time to be here this time of the year.

Looks like you picked the right week to go both for the fishing and ice quality.The attached aerial photo was taken on March 20, 2017 of the LOTW in the Kenora area.You can see where the ice road starts from the Kenora MNR office.

Be careful out there you early spring ice fisher-people.
