I run 10 lb mono as well, because I can look up a crankbait, find its depth curve, and fish a certain depth.

It depends....

If I an straight line trolling where I want to be on the bottom I would be using 10/4 fireline.

If I was trolling open water with Off Shore boards I would be using 10lb XT.

Been using Sufix Elite 10lb. Worked flawlessly. Heck, even landed a 47" northern on that line last year while pulling a crank. Any top tier mono will work. There are those who use braid but, for flatlining the stretch qualities of mono is a positive quality. I would consider a braid if I needed to go below 30' however that's my self imposed depth limit so mono remains my go to.

40 lb PowerPro Depth Hunter. It is 10 lb diameter so I can use the dive charts.

I use 10lb power pro. I used to use 10lb mono but had a few line breaks that I wasnt happy about, much more confident running braid.
