Steelhead were hitting for everyone but us in 60' and 70' Northeast of Cleveland today. They did steal some of our tackle though and 1 is getting smoked. Walleye's weren't cooperating either.

Fished 11.5 miles north of avon lake saturday.Awesome day to be on the lake.Went 6 for 9 on steelies and took three nice walleyes as a bonus. Also fought some trash fish..All on spoons off divers set on 1.5 out 70 to 90' and riggers down 32 to 46' and back thirty feet.Thermocline was at 48~ 50 feet down in 63 fow.Water temp went from 64 to 49 degree`s right there on my fish hawk.
Hot color was oil slick or confusion. Also caught a walleye AND a steelie on one double lured dipsie setup/one lure six feet above diver and back six feet.Another erie walleye goes for a wild last ride!..Had a blast out there!!!!....FISH HARD...Wahoo

Hi Wahoo,
When you run a leader lure above a Dipsy and catch a fish on the top lure how do you get the Dipsy to trip.

Fished the 38/10 line today going 12 for 14 on bullets and 2 nice eyes. Best program was jet 40s 120 back and big dipseys at #1 setting 50 ft 2.5-2.8 (gps). Anything with purple and chrome was best for us. We had 3 that were 27+in. What a great change of pace from walleyeing.

I had two great days steelie fishing (Saturday and Sunday). Fished the 38/41 and 8/11 both days. Went 15 for 21 on Saturday and 16 for 24 on Sunday. Big dipsy 100 back on three setting, and 85 back on two setting worked best. Cat/Dog and Boy/Girl got hit the most. I seemed to do better slower than normal 2.5-2.8 on the gps. Maybe that allowed my spoons to simply sink to the right depth with my set-up. Don't know for sure.....just happy to see the jumpers.

Biggest steelie was 31 inches and 11.5 lbs. Didn't catch a single walleye either day (and only one sheepshead, and a few white bass).
I had one triple on Saturday with only four rods out....the first time ever for that. Landed two of those three.

A great change of pace from walleye. I'll be following them out to the 48/00 line before the steelies say goobye (at least for me to run any farther). Mabye one day I'll do the 54/51 which is supposedly a good late summer spot.

Marcbodi, I think I finally saw you fishing over the weekend in your Lund. I had the Lund Sportfisherman (the Baron hull) for about 15 years before I went fiberglass. Glad you got into the steelies too.

Fished Fri-Sat-Sun for the bullits. Great weather great fishing. 48 of 82 on the bullits with 7 eyes too. Fished a pretty tight area from 40.5 to 43.5 N/S and 3 to 4.5 E/W a couple real nice bonzai flurries. Only problem is the fish moved about a mile north from Sat. to Sun. afraid they are on the move. Get it while you can. Anything with orange or motor oil pro spoons was hot. Riggers worked best at 39'-42'. #3 dipsey 135-145, #2 at 95-105 and #1 at 75-85 The eyes liked the blueberry muffin stinger. Ray "Erie Therapy" P.S. they wanted speed at 2.7-2.9 mph GPS
