Default Guys running 3 or more graphs

Let me preface this that I primarily fish for bass, but do quite a bit of multispecies fishing.
I currently have an 858 hd on the bow and a 998c si non hd on the console. I'm waiting on delivery of a Terrova Link. I'm looking at buying a 3rd graph. I'm tossing around a few different scenarios.
1. Get an 1198/9 for the bow and use it for everything on the bow. Move the 858 to the console and dedicate it for gps.
2. Get an 1198/9 for the console and move the 998 to the bow. Use the 998 as a dedicated imaging unit and run the Link and 2d off the 858
3. Get an 998/9 for the bow. Use the 858 for 2d and Link and run the 998/9 as a dedicated imaging unit but using Ethernet to sync up the units. Keep the 998 on the console untouched.
4. Get an 998/9 for the bow. Use the 858 for 2d and Link and run the 998/9 as a dedicated imaging unit. Add a 798ciHD to the console for 2d and gps and use the 998 dedicated to imaging.

I can buy a 998 and a 798 for the price of an 1198/9, but I'm not sure if that is the way to go. So, lets say you had around $2k to spend(with a 858 and 998 already on the boat), How would you set it up?

Up late I see. This requires a lot of thought. Tells us what you did once you figure it out.

I guess it depends how you plan on using the Link. I want to put it on my boat eventually but I'm going to connect it to the unit at the console so when I'm dragging spinners I can sit at the console and control the trolling motor and boat path. But your primarily bass guy so I'd go ahead and put the 1198 on the console for imaging and move your 998 up front for imaging up there. Long as they are networked then you got your 858 for gps and 998 for imaging/sonar if you can stand the 2d lol. But like you said you would have the 858 for 2d as well. I'm not sure how I would use link in my bass fishing so thats why I am planning to set mine up at console..

Dumb question for the Hbird guys if all your units are networked together can any of them access the iPilot Link or just one of the units?

The best way to network 3 fish finders together with i-Pilot Link is to use the 5-port ethernet switch. That way, all units that are part of the network can control i-Pilot Link. Total access at any fishing position.

This is my basic setup:

1198 at console
1158DI at bow
898 HD at kicker
i-Pilot Link
360 Imaging (transom mount)

All 5 of those units are tied together using the 5-port ethernet switch. I can control i-Pilot Link from any of the three fish finders, and have access to 360 Imaging from the wheel or the kicker. For my particular style of fishing and guiding, this is just about the perfect setup.

If it was me I would move the 998 SI as long as it can link to the bow. 858 in the back and take my $2000 and buy a 1198/9 and a 5 port switch and enet them all together

I sold my low and will be putting in my boat
1198 bow
1198 and 1158 dash
998 stern

I still have a 858 hd left over from my link last year I don't know what to do with but I'm sure I will figure it out

With Ethernet, I can use 2 pucks and 2 ducers with 3 head units correct? I should also be able to pick which graph(s) uses which puck and ducer, right?

Yes on ducers, why do you want 2 pucks?

I already have 2 pucks mounted. One for the bow and one for the console. The units I have now are not linked together.

Yes. You can have multiple GPS sources and multiple sonar sources on the network. Each unit can select which source it wants to access at any time.
