Question H-Bird 360 Imaging advice?

I picked up a new 1198c H-Bird the end of the season that I haven't mounted or used yet. I am planning to add 360 imaging and install it all in one swoop. Anything to consider while doing this? Software updates? Etc?

One of the more important things to consider is adding a master power cutoff. The 360 unit draws a trickle of power even when powered off, and over a week or so, that trickle will drain your battery. Kill the power to the unit with master cutoff and you'll be in good shape.

Keep in mind that many of the settings that can be used to adjust and optimize Side Imaging (sensitivity, contrast, sharpness) also apply in 360 Imaging. Once you get it dialed in, it is a complete riot to watch the fish as they mill around your boat. I probably still fished (or slowly drifted) more this past year than in any other, because watching the fish on 360 Imaging (and catching them, of course) was such a hoot. Some examples of 360 Imaging screen captures of fish are included below.

We filmed a DVD segment with 360 Imaging as well, using it to identify big perch on mudflats. That's something you might consider taking a peek at as well.

A really fun application.....drop shotting small, isolated rockpiles surrounded by mud. Can you say big summer smallies?

Capt. I do believe you live near me. Just give me a shout some time. I can help you however you need.

You will love the 360 on Devils Lake. It is like cheating.
