Default Let's see your electronics install

At this time of year, with new boats being delivered, there always seems to be questions of what will fit or what type of mount?

Maybe, if we ask pretty please, this thread can be pinned to the top of the Electronics forum, so there is an easy to find repository of pictures.

Let's get this started,,,,,,

Default Mega Live transducer install

I just installed a Mega Live transducer on a pole mount. Fishing wires was not an easy task.

My next project will be running wires and another rail mount base on the front of the boat so I can use the same pole and transducer up front. I didn't do this out of the gate because I was out of network ports and chose a spot I thought I would use it the most. I discovered the ethernet T adapter on Humminbird's site today so that gives me more possibilities.

Looks good so far. I see you have the aluminum tube for the pole pivot which is good. You'll still need to remind yourself to pull the pin and tilt the pole every time you take off with the main engine. You only need to forget once and the pin bends while it slots the pivot tube hole and it's a bad day after that. Keep a hacksaw blade in the glove box along with a spare pin (McMaster Carr) and you'll be able to stay on the water and use the Mega Live. I was warned about this by a Nitro dealer and his advice was to never use the pin when the pole is deployed. That does work but the working speed is slowed to barely over 2mph before the assembly pivots a bit.

Also make sure you have enough cabling free to be able to spin the pole 360*. It takes a fair amount of loose cable and doesn't look perfectly sanitary but sometimes one needs to trade function over form. Tight lines.

I am installing a Seaview hinge, 10 inch rise and radar, and my question is where does the wedge go? Should I do hardtop>wedge>hinge>riser or hardtop>hinge>wedge>riser?

my concern with the wedge on the hardtop first is that the hinge knobs seem like they’d be loose. But with a wedge on the hinge, it seems odd. I’m not sure what the recommended way it. Everything is from Seaview
