Fuel related item I should have checked?
Just my luck. Had the boat all serviced so I thought, scrubbed down, changed locator, added a few things over winter, went thru trailer and bearings. Fresh fuel and additive. Drop her in the water and she pops right off , runs 20 sec and dies. Try cranking it up again, nothing. Just turns over. So I'm thinking No fuel? Can't be. I know it's full. Pull the cover off and pump the bulb and watch the see thru filter I added last year. What no fuel!! Wtf. Get it back on trailer and dig into it some more. Pull the inspection cover off tank and the pickup tube come off the top tank fitting. Hmmm. Now what. New tank? Can I get new parts? Should I just make my own ? What happened is the adhesive they use to adhere the pickup tube to the stem on top of tank deteriated. Guess maybe I should have checked this periodically. I will from now one before a remote trip and make sure I have some mcgiver items for a fix.

Was this a remote fuel tank that was not built into the boat?
If that is the case, I have never ever heard of that happening. Be safe |

Yes indeed Rew it was a portable 6 gal tank. Thankfully it was a OEM Yamaha tank so the fitting assembly has 4 screws and gasket on top of tank for pickup tube. I did replace the tubing and used a stainless hose clamp to attach rather than adhesive from factory. Quick fix with right parts. I added those fix items to boat tool kit and parts box.
