Default 2 piece musky rod?

Anybody have any experience is using 2 piece musky rods and or do they even make such a creature??

I have several 8 footers now and would like something to break down to fit in my 7.5 foot rod lockers.
Either 8 or 9 foot would be nice.

I have the Tooth Tamer rods now and something like them would be nice.

I am not sure how great they would be if you could find one.

I have a pair of Okuma musky rods that are 8'6" that are telescoping rods. Both will collapse down to 7 feet.

Thanks, I keep forgetting about the collapsible rods.

Default 2 piece rod

Tackle Industries has a 2 piece 9 foot rod.

I bought one as I was looking for a 9 foot XXH rod, and all my other rods are St Croix.

I ordered it and when it arrive I placed it next to my St Croixs and learned that the handle on the TI is almost 6 inches longer than the SC.

This really screwed me up when I went into my figure 8 as it was always catching on my shirt or jacket. I mainly use the rod for Dawgs in the fall so I am often wearing more cloths.

Seeing Dawgs cast a mile I didn't think cutting the handle down to match my SC would hurt, so I cut almost 5 inches off the handle so the handle length matches all my SC.

Now I like the rod but it is only a 8'6".

From a functionality stand point you would never know it is a 2 piece rod.

It is a fair price and a good quality rod, I would recommend it.

Tackle industries also has telescoping rods, i have heard nothing but good about them. I figure on trying a couple this year. I usually use Croix's but i like the telescoping handle idea.

Thanks, 8-8'6" is about as long as I want to go.

Next month is the Musky show here and I'm hoping they'll have one or two to look at.

Ended up with the Tackle Industries 9 foot collapsible rod in med heavy action, 1-6 oz lures which fit most of what I throw.

Thanks all.

Much to easy to spend money at that show...

Just a little update, after using the Tackle industries rod for a bit, I have cut about 5" off the handle, first I cut the last inch off, then cut again and epoxied the end back on, came out better than I thought and makes a much easier rod to deal with.

No musky's yet, but it handled a 36" northern with no problem and action was good.
I think I like my Tooth Tamer rods a hair more, but this one fits in my rod locker and I enjoy using it.
