Makes sense about the nails, I guess firewood it is.

Michigan has had all the Ash taken out by the Ash Boring Bug.


Looks like you guys in Michigan are getting hit by two different boring bugs. The Ash Boring Bug and the Sirex Woodwasp that goes after pines. Minnesota is not that far away!

I have 35 acres of ash. Just had a logger over 11 days ago looking at some trees that blew over . I was told anything over 12" dia. is veneer quality.My jaw dropped when he told me what it goes for per cord. Call a timber consultant and see what the going rate is for veneer quality ash in your area.

You might post that on a traditional bow hunting site. Some of those guys make their own bows and ash is a great material.

Just a thought.
