Default How do I tell between a Walley and a Sauger?

Whats the different characteristics?

The sauger is a lot skinnier than the walleye. But the easiest way
to tell the difference is the sauger has spots on the dorsal fin and
the walleye does not. The sauger also has saddlelike markings
along its body, sort of like dark blotches.

Also the walleye has a white tip on the bottom of its tail that I don't believe the sauger does.

...and then there is the saugeye.....:)

easiest way to tell is the sauger has scales on its cheeks, the walleye doesn't.

True - but saugeye have scales on the cheeks too.
