Good luck
I say to you, REW, there's fishin' and there's catchin' - rarely the twain shall meet.
I enjoy both but I enjoy spending that $80 for a new rod on extra bait and a couple more fishing trips with my repaired rod tip a whole lot more.

When I was a REALLY yung'un I used to fish with a willow or poplar branch for a rod, a wad of that old black braided line without a reel to spool it on even, & a rusty hook I swiped out of the old man's tackle box. It worked just about as well then as all the fancy equipment I own now and the fish seemed to taste a lot better in those days too.

There are those who insist perfect is better, incrementally perhaps, but still better.
Then there are those of us who can "git-'er-dun" with whatever is handy and enjoy it just as much.
It's a poor workman who blames his tools.

While it can be done, it is much harder and more uncomfortable to drive a 16 penny nail with a screw driver. Good workmanship requires right tool for right job!!!!! Just yankin your chain a little!!! I personally give you props for spending YOUR money on what makes YOU happy and that's what really matters.

LMFAO.
Not if you shove the screwdriver into a large bore shotgun and shoot that daggone 16d spike in with it.

Like I say, it's the workman, not the tools.

PS: Prolly shouldn't ask me to re-rivit yer aluminum boat, eh?
