Thumbs up A Great, Fun Tournament With Tough Competition

Artie Arndt,

Looks like we will be able to make it again this year. Just call it our annual donation to the Big Stone Walleye Club! One of the more enjoyable tournaments to do out there. A great cause, well run and fun for all who participate. A good launch site and 25+ miles of lake to fish. Ortonville / Big Stone City have excellent facilities for lodging, dining and your bait and tackle needs.

The MN / SD Border Walleye Challenge rivalry is a good one. Only a few local run tournaments attract as many knowledgeable anglers as this one. 2011 should be no exception. If you are looking for an early walleye tournament to do try the the Border Walleye Challenge. Big Stone Lake with it's early opener is a great lake for all of us to hone up on our fishing skills made rusty by a TOO LONG winter.

Question for you Artie? Where does the rivalry stand? Mn or SD ahead?

Hope to see you there!

Default Border Battle

Hey Pete,

Thanks for the kind words. The SD vs Mn battle is 2 a piece right now. SD won the first two years and Mn won the last two years. Last year was a record year for number of fish caught in the tourney. It should be another good year. Ice fishing was decent, as good as its been in the last few years (until the snow got too deep). As always, we greatly appreciate the fisherman who participate and support this tournament each year. We look forward to seeing familiar faces this spring!
