Default 250 pro xs

I have 2010 250 pro xs that just recently a piston decinigrated in it .
The debris from the piston scored the cyl walls in 3clys.
So far mercury has been excellent in takeing care of this matter.I have been informed a new short block is on the way.Not sure of what caused it
did not over heat oil pump operating fine as well as compressor.107 hours on engine.I will keep you posted if the cause is figured out.

You could blow one up by not letting the motor warm up before going WOT. Pistons get hot and expand before cylinder walls warm up and expand, causing a seizure.
Merc tells you to warm them up before taking off.

PJM, the motor is an 04 as well, and also looking at the pics the bottom end is silver and the rest of the motor is black.
