Default Chambelain SD

Anybody know if the Missouri river is open at Chamberlain? I will be picking up my new rig next week and cannot wait till the ice is off here. I was going to go up to the Rainy in mid april but dont think it will be thawed. I just want to fish a day and a half. Can you also recommend lodging and fishing spots....

Default Chamberlain

I cannot confirm, but people were on here last week saying it was open from the dam down past crow creek. One guy said all the way to Chamberlain. I would think that if a person can get to Kiawia they should be able to get limits rather easily....now what I can conform is all open water below Pickstown, gotta be there when they are running water or its a tough bite.

I spoke with our guy in chamberlain yesterday.
The river has opened up and got a skim on it this past weekend cold front.
Supposed to be sunny today so it should be open water.
Forcast is supposed to be warm and sunny the rest of the week.
Should be good to go ....

Went through Chamberlain late yesterday.
Main channel is open although access could be a problem with the bays and shorelines a still frozen.
Forcast this week looks good so it will change daily.
Lots of ice flows to deal with so please be careful and prepared if you head that way.

Default Waiting

Talked to my fishing buddy and we are going to wait till the 2nd week in April. Seems like the wise choice...
