Default Livewell overflowing through drain

Crestliner 1700 Vision. Rear central livewell. Fills through drain and overflow when on plane. Any suggestions? Check Valve?

Could possibly be plummed wrong from the factory if it is a brand new boat.It should not fill from the drain. There should be a spray bar or something in the livewell that fills the livewell when you turn on the pump.

It's not overflowing from the pump. The drain and overflow are tied together and for some reason water is entering the livewell from those when on plane. You can see the water coming up from the drain when on plane.

Drain and overflow are tied together and go out the transom. Does no good.

How is it even possible to fill from the overflow? Never seen an overflow that was below the waterline.

No. Everything I've read says the drain/overflow hole is too close to the motor. Thought about a check valve but then it would only drain after removing it from the water. Drain hole probably needs to be relocated away from the motor.

The live well is less than 2 feet from the pick up and drain. The over flow is t'd into the drain from the factory. The pick up is starboard side of keel and drain is port side. Both are very close to center. I believe the drain is too close to the motor and getting water entering from that.
